1. Take the womb out immediately and scrape the insides and the pain is gone – forever. Then adopt. There are so many children who are in desperate need of loving parents, surely your ego doesn’t demand that you breed to fulfill the universal need to nourish a young one. WE adopted 6 children and, they have enriched our lives beyond what words could ever say. They don’t look like me, but they love me. That’s all it takes.

2. I, too, have this horrible disease. The pain would be so bad that when I was younger, I would run a hot bath, I mean as hot as I could stand, and sit in it. It would give me some relief, then I would turn a heating pad on high and that helped some too. Over the counter pain medicines didn’t even come close to touching the pain. After I got older, my physician prescribed me prescription pain medicine which helped much better, but only take them when you’re having cramps as people can easily get addicted to these. A bottle of 30 would last me 3 months. Then my endometriosis got so painful that I had laparoscopic surgery in which the dr goes in and cleans it all up, at least what they can clean up. I was having difficulty getting pregnant and my dr said it was all over both ovaries and both fallopian tubes were covered in it.

   After the surgery I had two successful pregnancies. I am on depo-provera now and do not have a period at all anymore which certainly helps. For me and my endometriosis: no period, no pain.

   The surgery was not bad at all. Its a same day surgery and I had very little pain afterward. It may seem like a major step to take, but when you live with that pain every month and then have trouble conceiving, I think its a small price to pay.

3. I used to use a heating pad. It really helped. Naproxen and Ultram also used to work.

4. I, too, suffer from this disease. It suprises me that it is never listed on the medical history checklists you fill out at the doctor’s office because it is soooo debilitating. Anyway, I’ve tried all sorts of pain relievers both over the counter and perscribed and nothing could fully touch or relieve the pain. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the most painful), I was an 11 each month for 7 to 11 days!!! For awhile I’d take 4 advil and 2 tylenol and use a stick on heat pad on my abdomen to try to get it to a 6. Now I worry I could have created ulcers from doing that, as I also use this treatment for my monthly migraines. The only thing that has worked for me is to take the birth control pill (Zovia) and to skip the placebo week–just go right to the next pill cycle every 3 weeks. I take a break every 3 pill pkgs (and try to have a period) but usually my period happens at some other unpredictable time. I had a laproscopy and DandC which helped reduce the pain for about 3 years. Then the pain came back and I’ve been on the pill ever since. After trying to get pregnant for 2 yrs with no reason why we weren’t successful, I (we) decided to adopt. It was the best choice I ever made. It also relieved my fear that if I was taking pain reliever while pregnant, I might harm the fetus.

5. I know it sounds strange, but eating more cold water fish seems to help me…there’s a type of oil that help suppress some of the hormones your body creates. OTC meds dont work for me either, usually its the pain killers that work the best, but i dont like taking them because i have a 4 month old
